Evaluation Process

What if I don’t agree with GadgetGone’s evaluation?

If you aren't happy with the new amount you've been offered, you can elect to have your device shipped back to you. We'll even cover the return shipping cost. Note: If you receive an email from us with a re-quoted offer, please let us know if you'd like to accept or reject it as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you within 2 weeks of the initial email, we’ll send you a payment reflective of the re-quoted offer amount and process your device(s) for resale.

What happens if GadgetGone doesn’t agree with the offer details I submitted?

If what we find doesn't match up with what you told us about your device, we will email you with our findings and provide you with options to move forward. In some cases, we may email you with a re-quoted offer amount. For example: if you stated that your device was in “flawless” condition but we found some scratches on it, we would inform you of these findings and offer you our "good" price instead.

How soon after delivery will my device be evaluated?

We strive to evaluate all device(s) within 3-5 business days after delivery. Occasionally we fall short of that goal, typically during periods of high trade-in volume such as after an Apple product launch. For this reason, we ask that customers allow us up to 7 business days to evaluate their offer. We are currently working on a 5-7 business day turnaround time for evaluations. As of Monday 11/27/2023, we are evaluating devices delivered on 11/17/2023.

What is checked during the evaluation process?

During the evaluation process, we'll first make sure that all the specifications of your device are as you described them to be (i.e. model, carrier and storage capacity). We'll then run a series of inspections and tests on your device to make sure that it matches the condition criteria you selected. Please note that we do not purchase Blacklisted devices, iCloud locked devices, Remote Managed devices, or devices that are too damaged to be properly tested. Specifically, if we cannot access the settings menu of a device then it is likely too damaged to be properly tested. 


What are my payment options?

You can choose PayPal, Direct Bank Transfer, Virtual Visa Card or a gift card through PrizeOut. Please keep in mind that if you chose to receive a PayPal payment, PayPal will charge 2.9% + $0.30 of your total payment as their seller fee. GadgetGone does not reimburse this fee. All orders that contain a brand new condition item will be required to be paid through PayPal. Bank Transfers and Virtual Visa cards are sent to your email for redemption from Tremendous Rewards. There are no fees associated with bank transfers or virtual visa cards. PrizeOut offers thousands of gift card options to our customers with some card options offering up to a 20% bonus.  Target, Amazon, and Walmart are guaranteed options to all customers and all other vendors and bonus options rotate weekly to give customers a variety of options to choose from weekly. If your entire value is not redeemed at one time you can access your remaining value at any time to claim an additional gift card. There are no fees associated with the PrizeOut option.

When will I be paid?

If everything checks out with your device(s) during the evaluation process, we'll send your payment the same day it's evaluated. Note that if you select a Bank Transfer as your payment method, it will take 2-4 business days to process into your bank account. All other payment methods will arrive via email the same day. We'll always send you a confirmation email to let you know your payment is on its way.

Do you price match?

If you find a better offer for your device we'll match it! Just send us an email via our Contact page to lock in your offer. Terms: This offer applies only if you contact us prior to receiving an offer on our website. It does not apply to existing offers. This guarantee extends only to other trade-in websites advertising instant cash offers. Retail websites such as Amazon or eBay and buyback programs that offer payment in the form of gift cards or in-store credit are not applicable to this guarantee. We reserve the option to deny any price match request (at our sole discretion) if we deem the competing offer to be from an illegitimate/little-known entity or for any bulk offer requests.

What personal information do I need to provide to claim an offer?

We'll need your first and last name, email address and shipping address. All correspondence, as well as your payment will be sent to the email address you provide.

What if I’m unsure about my device’s condition?

We have clearly defined condition categories so you'll know exactly how much money you will be receiving for your device. If you used our condition guide and are still unsure about what condition your device is in, just make your best guess. We always judge condition from an unbiased perspective. For example: if you believe your device is in "good" condition, but we find that it's in "flawless" condition, we'll be sure to give you the additional amount once your phone has been inspected.

How do I get a quote for my device?

To get an obligation-free quote for your device, click the "Get Quote" button at the top of any page and select the device type you would like to sell. From there you'll select your device's brand, model, storage capacity and condition to be given an instant quote.

Preparing Your Device for Shipment

Does my device’s IMEI/MEID number need to be clean for activation?

To make sure everything goes smoothly with your offer, you’ll want to make sure that your device has a clean IMEI/MEID number, which simply means it’s 100% ready to be activated by a new user. The qualifications for this vary from carrier to carrier. We suggest calling your cellular provider to verify that your device is ready for resale if you are unsure of its status. Note: We do not condone the buying and selling of devices that have been lost or stolen. For that reason, GadgetGone does not purchase any device that has been blacklisted or account locked. If a blacklisted or account locked device is sent to our office, our customers are responsible for return shipping expenses and may be sent an invoice of $10 per device to have them returned to the customer. 

What should I do with my SIM card?

If your device is used, we don’t need your SIM card in order to evaluate it. You are welcome to keep your SIM card if you’d like, or you can send it in with the device and we will dispose of it. However, if your device is brand new and still in the box, do not remove the SIM card as this will affect your device's pristine condition.

Do I need to include any accessories?

We will make use of and responsibly recycle any accessories you would like to include with your package. Accessories are not required to receive your quoted amount unless otherwise mentioned on the condition description of each product page. Any extra accessories you include in your package (such as original boxes, cables, cases, etc) will NOT be returned to you in the event you would like us to return your device. Note: For Brand New condition devices, all original accessories and devices must be factory sealed in the original packaging to receive the Brand New condition value.

Do I need to delete my data?

Yes! It is very important that you delete your personal data prior to shipping your device. The fastest way to do this for Apple devices is by going to the Settings icon -- “General" tab -- "Reset" tab and then select "Erase All Content and Settings." If you are unable to delete your data using the above method because your device is no longer functioning, you can follow these steps to remove your data remotely.


Can I track my package?

Yes, all of our shipping labels come with a unique tracking number that you can use to track your package. We'll also let you know once your package has been delivered to our facility.

How long do I have to ship my device after placing an order?

Your offer is locked in for 14 days after checkout. As long as your package has been marked as shipped by USPS in that time frame, your offer will still be valid! If your package is shipped after this 14 day period it will be subject to current pricing at the time of delivery. We will contact you if a re-quote is necessary.

What if I don’t have access to a printer to print my shipping label?

No printer? No problem! Just shoot us an email and let us know you don’t have a printer and we’ll mail you a physical copy of your shipping label. Be sure to reference your offer number when requesting a mailed shipping label.

Do you provide a shipping container?

At this time we only supply a free shipping label. Upon request, we are happy to send a shipping container for items like smart phones, watches, and tablets. We are not able to send shipping boxes for consoles or computers at this time. For those, you’ll just need to find a box to ship your device in. We recommend a recycled box you may already have in your home from a previous purchase or you head to your local post office and pick from their assortment of boxes and packing materials!

How do I get a shipping label?

After you've claimed an offer with us, you can print out your free shipping label instantly. The label will also be sent to you via email so you can print it out at a later time or save a copy for your records.

Do I have to pay for shipping?

Nope! We’ll send you a USPS shipping label completely free of charge.
