What do I need to do before selling my Android phone?
Unsure of how to prepare your old Android phone for selling? Just follow these easy steps:
1. Back up your Pixel. Chances are that your Google Pixel phone is already set up to back up your phone’s data automatically using your Google account. However, it’s a good idea to back it up one final time before you sell it. Do this by going to Settings > System > Backup > Back up now > Continue.
2. Turn off Factory Reset Protection by going to Settings > Accounts/Accounts and backup > Accounts > find and tap on your Google account(s) that is tied to your phone > Remove account.
3. Factory reset your phone by going to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset) > Reset phone > enter your device’s passcode if necessary and select Continue > Erase everything. If you have a Samsung phone, factory reset it by going to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset > Reset > enter your device’s passcode and select Next > Delete all.
4. Make sure your Pixel has been paid off and removed from your carrier account if necessary.
5. Fully charge your phone, then turn it off.
6. Remove your SIM and SD cards if you’d like to keep them for another device
